How To Do A Life Inventory

Whew. It's been an awkward and lovely growth spurt of a year for me so far.

Think: first day of 7th grade, you still have your braces and bigger boobs than you feel even the remotely comfortable with 🥴 There has been lots of practice in patience, letting go of outcomes, taking risky AF chances and following my gut.

It feels both exhilarating and terrifying. There have been several highs, and a handful of lows and I'm really learning how to stay open to the ebbs and flows of Life.

Why Do A Life Inventory?

Last week I decided it was time for a Life Inventory, which is where I set aside time and simply assess - how happy and fulfilled am I in each area of my life? I think it's so important to do this from time to time, because you know what? Life goes by so damn fast and it's really really really easy to just go through the motions.

Have you ever had a time in your life when you kind of just “wake up” from your life and you're like, wait…what?? 😂

Cue, The Life Inventory!

**The Life Inventory is not about perfection or good or bad. This is an honest, loving assessment that says “this is where I am, and this is what I can do, if I so choose, to change it.”

My Current Life Inventory

Physical Health 💃: 8. Although I wouldn't consider myself doing great in the body-love sub-category, I feel good about the actions and thoughts I am engaging in to increase the love I feel for myself.

And my physical energy has been 👌 I also took the painstaking action of finding a new dentist and made an appointment, which felt like a gargantuan task. Go me!!! 🤣

Mental / Emotional Health 🧠: 7. I've lovingly enforced #slowliving which has enhanced my mental health in a BIG way. For me, that looks a lot like disconnecting my productivity from my value.

It's interesting doing this while also applying to grad school 🤔 it's been a constant unfolding.

Personal Development 🤓: 4. It's officially the lowest it's ever been 🫣 I recently outlined the courses I want to work on, but have not followed through. The plan: focus on one course at a time and schedule in 3 hours each week. Doable.

Business 🎢: 5. Collaborations are on fucking point 🎯. Taking risks ✅. Loving writing and creating and The Year Of Awakening and my incredible life coaching clients.

Fucking pinch me!

AND. I've had a massive issue with focus and procrastination and I'm trying to figure out what the deal is. Honestly, it's incredibly frustrating. Working at coffee shops has been my most-recent lifesaver.

I'm wondering: am I uninspired? Do I have too much going on? TBC.

Family / relationships 👨‍👩‍👧‍👧🧔‍♂️👩🐶👴👩‍🦳: 7. This year has already been filled with lots of opportunity for connection, support, laughs and tears. I'm so grateful I have a job that allows me the flexibility to swim on a Tuesday afternoon with the girls, go RVing with my parents and catch a crisis call from one of my girls at noon.

Next focus: looking to remedy some behavioral issues with Winston 🥹

Adventure / Play 🚍🤸: 9. Speaking of! This would be a 10 if we weren't taking our motorhome in in a couple weeks because the slide (pop-out) decided to stop working 😑. Fingers crossed we get it back before our trip to Chelan in July!

Home 🏡: 8. I recently did a big deep clean and stored away some decorations that weren't ‘sparking joy.’ I'm looking forward to antiquing and garage saleing this summer for some unique finds. The yard is looking amazing, the garden is growing and the hammock is up!

Time 🕰️: 5. **see Business. The focus (lack thereof) has fucked with my time. Feeling pulled in a million different directions has left me feeling really scattered and unproductive.

Like, really though, not in some perfectionistic “I must get everything done” kind of way. Also, did I just answer my question about business?? 😅
